Our Thailand Travel Adventure

Eventually after around 18 hours of travelling we arrived at Phuket. Getting through the airport was very easy and efficient and we had all the correct paperwork to hand. We had a PCR test done at the airport and then made our way to our quarantine night hotel where we waited for our test results to come back.

We checked in to the Bandara Phuket where they uprgraded us to a room with a balcony. After about 3 hours of being in the room we got our PCR results through, both negative...phew! So that night we were able to go out and eat and explore a bit. The next morning we woke up early and went up to the roof to watch the sunrise and have a quick swim in the pool.

On Thursday 28 April we checked in to Mango Tree Villas. Lovely little room with amazing views over the bay. Not much to do in this

Not much to do in this

area but that is precisely why we booked it. A nice quiet week of easing ourselves into our new life for the next few months.

We spent our time relaxing by the pool and swimming in the sea. One morning we got up early to see the sunrise and then walked up to the viewpoint at Kao Khad and walked along the beach over the rocks to the other side of Ao Yon beach. We hired a scooter for a couple of days and on the first day we went right round to the Panwa Cape area then up to the Kao Khad Viewing Tower which looks across Phuket. The second day we went round to Rawai Beach area and had lunch at the seafood market where you choose your fish then cross the road to a restaurant and they cook it for you. We then drove on to Promthep Cape and eventually back to Ao Yon. We had coffee in the Used Books Cafe and we took a drive up to PhaLaeLay viewpoint and had a lovely view with a nice cold frappe coffee.
