East Coast USA & Caribbean Cruise

New York was our last stop on this journey. Martin had the pleasure of driving the hire car into New York, it was Bryan's turn but he had a hangover from the night before so wasn't capable. Bryan and Steve had stayed up drinking with some stranger in our motel who was buying them drinks. Luckily the drop off for the car was next door to our hotel the "Wyndham New Yorker". Great location walking distance to nearly everything. Times Square was just down the road as was the Empire State Building, the largest Macy's in the world was just around the corner much to Sue's delight.
We went up to the top of the Empire State Building and took photos of the magnificent views of the city. We did a boat trip out to the Statue of Liberty, went to the Ground Zero 9/11 Museum.
We went to see two Broadway musicals, one on Broadway the other off Broadway. The first was Kinky Boots and the second School of Rock. Both were great and we got cut price tickets. The American Museum of Natural History was amazing, you could spend hours here. We walked across the Brooklyn Bridge and had an ice cream on the other side. We also wandered around Greenwich Village in lower Manhattan where there was a group of students who had just graduated and were still wearing their gowns and celebrating.
Central Park was the last place we visited, talk about saving the best for last. This park was awesome, we walked around for ages and then took a horse drawn carriage ride to end with.
One thing I will always remember about New York are the Police sirens. You could hear them day and night and there was always a strong Police presence everywhere you went.
