We stayed at the Allure resort on International Drive which a walk in either direction took you to great restaurants and bars.
Universal Studio's was our first theme park on our stay in Orlando. The complex was like a miniature city with picture theatres and a shopping centre, we bought our tickets from the hotel and had to walk about 2 k's to another hotel to get the bus. The main attraction here was Harry Potter World. This was really good we did the train ride on the Hogwart's Express which had a simulation like you had all the characters on the train with you. There were loads of people here so was very crowded but loved the experience.
