Alaska on the Norwegian Sun

On Tuesday we hit Ketchikan. I can only describe this place a quaint. It is situated on Revillagigedo Island, as most of the cities and towns that we will be visiting are. Alaska is made up of lots of islands, some inhabited, and some not. This is Alaska's first city but is not the capital. Juneau is. Ketchikan is the southeastern most city in Alaska. With a population of 8,250 within the city limits, it is the sixth most populous city in the state of Alaska. It is named after the Ketchikan Creek, which flows through the town. "Ketchikan" comes from the Tlingit name for the creek, Kitschk-hin. Ketchikan has the worlds largest collection off standing totem poles.
We took a tour to George Inlet lodge and had a Dungeness crab feast. And a feast it was. i ended up washing my hoodie out when we got back to the ship because the crab juice ran down my arm. We went out onto the inlet in a boat and saw a cannery. Right beside that, was "the end of the road" on the island. We also pulled a crab pot. An awesome day. Even managed to fit in shopping.
