The Mendanhall Glacier and Nugget Falls are not to be missed in my opinion. It is a mile easy walk to Nugget Falls but well worth the effort to get up close and personal with a large waterfall alongside the
glacier. This is the closest point to the Mendanhall Glacier without being dropped by helecopter on the the glacier.
The Mt Roberts Tramway is also an exciting thing to do, rising 1800 feet in less that 5 minutes. Lady Baltimore is the bald (meaning white) eagle at the top of the tramway is in captivity and used as an ambassador to teach about bald eagles. She was hit by a car which blinded her in one eye, and damaged a wing. She cannot be released into the wild. She feasts on salmon though and is well looked after. She knows how to pose for the cameras but doesn’t like selfies. She’s likely to poop bomb you if you turn your back on her. Loved Juneau. Could live there too.
