Day 126 ... Our next stop is Boracay. We caught our flight to Caticlan which now we know is on another island from Boracay and when we landed we got straight onto a bus which took us on a 10 minute drive through a little village to the airport to collect our luggage. Then we had to sort out transport to our hotel so we booked an all in one transfer by boat and electric tricycle to our hotel. Or so we thought, the guy dropped us off on a road and told us we were at our hotel...it didn't look like it! We put our backpacks on and started walking while looking at Google maps, it showed we were a short walk away, along the beach! Once we arrived, the view out of the hotel reception door was amazing! We were right on the beach and although our hotel room doesn't have a sea view, the hotel does and we'll be spending most of our days for the next week on the beach! It feels like so long ago since we were actually sun bathing on a beach. I've just got my fingers crossed the weather hold out for us this week. It changes so quickly, literally from one minute to the next! We got some lunch at a nearby restaurant, there are so many to choose from! And then got a

Philippines - Boracay - Grand Blue Beach Hotel - - Day 126 - 132
And then got a
couple of hours sun/cloud on the beach. We can't wait for some sunshine on the beach this week. I think in hindsight, we should have flown straight from Puerto to Boracay and given Cebu a miss, but at least Adam had a productive few days with his app.
Day 127 ... We woke up to sunshine, so after breakfast we went to get our sun lounger spot for the day. Unfortunately the sun only lasted for 30 minutes or so. As we should have known by now, the weather changes so quickly in the Philippines! And eventually the grey clouds turned to rain, we stuck it out under an umbrella for a while and then decided to go to the room until it dried up. After lunch the rain had stopped and at about 2.30pm we had sunshine so relaxed for the afternoon on the beach, perfect! We went for a walk at sunset to watch the sun go down and scope out the Station 2 area. We've realised we chose exactly the right place to stay on the beach. A 5 minute walk from our hotel along the beach and you hit all the tourist tat shops and the restaurants and bars with loud music blaring! I sound so old!! But it's just so busy up that way, full of Chinese tourists! So much more peaceful where we are.
Day 128 ... We have woken up to sunshine, and it stayed around all day, in fact the skies got even clearer so we topped up our tan for a couple of hours before walking the 10 minute walk to Hoy Panga where I spotted did
smoothie bowls last night. I've been craving a smoothie bowl for weeks! So I was a happy girl today! Fortunately we just had enough money to pay the bill. I had looked in the wallet earlier and thought I'd seen a 1000 peso note but it was a 100. I panicked and counted what we had with us which was 470 peso, the bill came to 462 peso! I planned it all really, almost down to the penny! Tonight we're going back to the nice restaurant we went to on our first night for the salmon pasta. Last nights meal was average at an Italian we chose and we were charged 10% VAT and 10% service charge which we weren't impressed about.
Day 129 ... Another beach day in paradise, although we only had sun until lunchtime. We went back to Hoy Panga for a smoothie bowl for lunch. Then a relaxing afternoon researching Vietnam. It's my mums Birthday today so we'll Facetime later to sing Happy Birthday :)
Day 130 ... Another beach bum day, making the most of this amazing weather and beach! Smoothie bowl again for lunch and back to our favourite, but expensive, restaurant for dinner. it's Lesley's Birthday today so my mum has baked a cake and got some flowers from us to drop off later which will be a nice surprise for her. Last full day tomorrow too, before we head over to Manila for our flight to Vietnam on 12th Feb!
Day 131 ... Our last day in paradise today. After breakfast we went to the
beach as usual and then to hoy Panga for another smoothie bowl for lunch. I've managed to last 4 months without getting prickly heat and today it decides to flare up so we headed back to the room earlier than usual. We needed to pack and Adam was itching to do some more coding work. It's my mum and dads 50th wedding anniversary today too. We'll be missing the celebrations but Robyn and Paul have a surprise party at their house planned which will be lovely for them. Just a shame we won't be there to celebrate with them too. We're off to our favourite restaurant for our last dinner tonight at Villa Caemilla. Oh and I can tell we've been travelling a while now and I'm getting used to all these creatures we find along the way! I had a miniature gecko right next to me on the ned this afternoon and only squealed, no screaming this time! We saw him last night on the wall but Adam said, if you leave them alone they stay high on the walls...they don't stay high on the walls, they climb on the bed so it seems! It was only a baby so it was kinda cute! I caught him in a glass and put him outside, just hoping he stays there!
Day 132 ... Today we get picked up from our hotel in Boracay and taken to the boat to catch over to Caticlan Island to then be taken to Kalibo Airport which is an hours drive away. Which was the cheapest option when we were booking the flights. We have a nights stay in Manila before we fly into Ho Chi Min City the day after. Can't wait!! Mainly for the food!!
