Day 17 ... It was time to move to Seminyak this morning. As we were having our breakfast, Hayley and Sean turned up at our villa in Uluwatu to say hi after arriving late last night. They were heading to the Uluwatu Temple which is right next to where we are staying. It was so lovely to see them! We had our breakfast and a nice chat before we got our taxi over to Seminyak. We checked into our new hotel which is lovely and went for a walk to find somewhere for lunch. Adam isn't going to thank me but I took him to Cafe Organic
Day 18 ... Today we went to scope out the nearby beach. It's okay but nothing special and not that clean either really. Plus lying on the beach was just so hot so we only stayed for a couple of hours. After lunch we went for a walk to see what Potato Head Beach Club was like. It's a huge hotel and has a nice big outside area to chill in. But there's a first come first served basis for the sun loungers and a mini spend for some areas of the beach club so we decided just to have a cocktail at the bar and relax there for a

Bali - Seminyak - The Amalfi Hotel - Day 17- 23
But there's a first come first served basis for the sun loungers and a mini spend for some areas of the beach club so we decided just to have a cocktail at the bar and relax there for a
while. It was nice but a little bit posey. Not to mention the price of the cocktails!!
Day 19 ... We decided to go for a walk along the beach this morning after we booked in for a full body massage. It was perfect weather again and still so hot so walking along the beach was a lot more comfortable than lying on the beach. After our walk we went to get a smoothie as we were a little toasty/dripping in sweat! Then off for our massage. During the massage my stomach didn’t feel great, but I just put it down to drinking a smoothie before lying down for an hour to have our massage. When we were completely relaxed after the massage, we walked around the corner to Sea Circus and I ordered a chicken salad, but I couldn’t eat more than 3 mouth fulls. My stomach was doing summer-salts and I just felt so queasy, Adam had to finish it for me. I think it’s happening...I think I’ve got the dreaded ‘Bali Belly’. Bali is renowned for people getting upset stomachs from the water or food I’m not too sure. Either way, I’ve never had anything like it. Even when I’m ill at home, my appetite rarely goes. But I can’t stomach much. For dinner, Adam went on the hunt for take away pizza. I knew I didn’t want to go and sit in a restaurant and I knew I wouldn’t be able to eat much but I’d try a couple of slices of pizza. But nope, I couldn’t even eat that either.
Day 20 ... I managed to eat 4 slices of toast after not really eating for 24 hours! Dry toast was a good shout. So I thought ‘yay’ I’m feeling better. Hayley and Sean had just arrived in Canggu so we planned to meet them at Milk&Madu for lunch. We got a taxi across to Canggu. The driving and scooters are crazy and across a narrow road which seems to be a short cut to Canggu from Seminyak and everyone drives along it! But there are ditches on either side into the rice fields and this road is renowned (especially for tourist) for people driving off the side into the rice fields and getting stuck with their scooters and even cars! We saw 2 guys that had done just that on their scooter and we’re trying to climb out as we drove passed. We arrived at Milk&Madu for lunch with Hayley and Sean, I wasn’t feeling 100% and decided to order a Nalu smoothie bowl. Bad idea, I could barely eat any of it and didn’t keep what I did manage down. So we didn’t stay that long really as I just felt awful. After an afternoon relaxing in the hotel, we went across the road to the pizza place Adam found the night before. Finally I managed to eat some pizza and felt a lot better for it too.
Day 21 ... After I’ve started to feel a little more like myself, Adam has started to feel ill. So we had a lazy morning in the hotel. We walked down to meet Hayley and Sean at Sea Circus for lunch but Adam didn’t feel like eating and then had a short walk along the beach which was lovely and had a
girlie wedding chat! After that we headed back to the hotel so Adam could relax. We had booked the Mount Batur sunrise trek for tomorrow and hoping Adam will feel up to it!
Day 22 ... We had a super early 8pm bedtime to try and get as much sleep as possible last night ready for our 1am wake up call. I’m not going to lie, it wasn’t easy getting up at that time! We were picked up from our hotel and collected Hayley and Sean along the way to Mount Batur which was a good 2 and half hour drive to the base of the volcano where we were starting our trek from. Apparently we were on the shorter trek. But it didn’t seem like it! We arrived, it was pitch black and pretty cold as we were so high up! The trek up through pitch black jungle (with all sorts of noises) and really rough terrain was a hard slog but after an hour and half we made it to the top where we sat with a hot chocolate and waited for the sunrise. The views were incredible and were defiantly testing my height phobia! Adam got his drone out but unfortunately it didn’t record so we didn’t get the footage but we got plenty of photos. After the sunrise our
tour guide showed us some small crevices in the side of the volcano where he had put a basket with eggs in to cook for breakfast. The heat coming from the holes in the side of the volcano was just immense! You couldn’t touch it! After some steamed eggs for breakfast and some more photos with a walk along a narrow ridge with a shear drop on either side, we started our decent. It was a lot easier going down although still pretty tough as the terrain was just so uneven. We got back to the minivan and after a short drive we arrived at a restaurant for some breakfast. The views from the balcony at the restaurant were just immense! The volcanos in the distance were stunning! What an adventure this has been! An early start but worth it for the experience and views! We got back to the hotel for 10.30am and went straight back to bed for a good few hours and woke up just before it was time for dinner. Feels like we have jet lag again! Now it’s time to meet Hayley and Sean for a lovely treat. Us girlies went to Blowbar Bali to get our hair did with a glass of prosecco in hand while the boys wait for us having a beer! Whoever thought up the idea of having a blow bar inside a bar is a genius! After we’d had our hair blow dried we sat and had a cocktail and a lovely catch up! Such a nice treat! Especially after not having a hair dryer to use for the last 3 weeks! Then we went to a nice restaurant for a lovely meal.
Day 23 ... Adam still isn’t feeling great but we arranged to meet Hayley and Sean at a beach club before we say goodbye. We got a taxi over to Canggu and went for lunch and then to find La Brisa beach club to have a drink and relax for a while. Hayley and Sean had rented scooters while they were in Canggu and we hadn’t so we hopped on the back of the scooters over to La Brisa. Seeing Adam on the back of Sean’s scooter was the funniest thing I’d seen in a while! Especially as Sean wasn’t the most confident of scooter drivers too! It was a bit of a cloudy day but still nice and warm so it was a nice change just sitting and relaxing inside the La Brisa beach club rather than lying in the sun all afternoon. After a few hours we said our goodbyes and headed back to the hotel. It will be just before the wedding when we next see Hayley and Sean, it seems like so long away!
