Day 24 ... We booked our boat over to Nusa Lembongan yesterday. We were collected from our hotel, taken to Sanur Harbour where we were taken over to Nusa Lembongan which was around a 30 minute (bumpy) journey. When we arrived we were put on to an open air van type thing and dropped off at our hotel. We get all the same transport on the return journey and it cost us around £16 each, bargain!! We arrived at our new home for the next 4 nights and went for a (very) short walk to Dream Beach. We can literally hear the waves sat on our little balcony! The beach is only a small, but lovely cove. The waves are rough but swimmable, just. At your own risk! I found a place called Sandy Bay Beach Club to go to for dinner, and it didn't disappoint! I had a tune steak, cooked to perfection and Adam had a lovely chicken dish. So we've booked again for tomorrow night at 6pm, just before sunset and asked for a good table, you will see in the pictures I'll take from tomorrow night why. The sun was just setting as we arrived tonight and it looked amazing!

Bali - Nusa Lembongan - The Cubang Huts - Day 24 - 28
Day 25 ... Today we hired a scooter and toured all over Nusa Lembongan and across the Yellow Bridge to Nusa Ceningan. The roads on these islands, in some parts, are so bumpy and awkward to negotiate. We had a great day seeing all the sights and amazing views both islands have to offer, including Devil's Tear with about 101 Chinese tourists with their sun brollies being shipped in on trucks, Mushroom Bay Beach, Mahagiri Resort Beach, drove along the costal road to the Mangroves, Yellow Bridge, Blue Lagoon, Mahana Point. We had lunch at The Deck which had the most stunning views, and stopped off a Le Pirate Beach Club for a diet coke break! We then went for tea at our favourite place, Sandy Bay Beach Club which we have booked to go back to again tomorrow night!
Day 26 ... We found Nemo!!! Talk about throwing ourselves in the deep end...!!! We went on our snorkelling tour today, we had a boat to ourselves with Captain Wayan taking us on a tour of the best places to snorkel nearby. We headed to Manta Bay for the first stop, but the sea was so rough and choppy on the way over, when we got there, it wasn't much different and Captain Wayan said there would be no manta rays around. So he turned us round and took us to another cove where there were already 4 or 5 boats. All of a sudden within seconds of us pulling up Captain Wayan is pointing and shouting at us (he didn't speak one word of English). But we could see, not too far from the boat, there was a enormous manta ray swimming around, so without a second thought, (baring in mind this was my first time ever snorkelling) I got my mask, snorkel and flippers on a jumped straight in with Adam. Not quite as easy as I thought as I was panic breathing but as soon as I got the hang of it, after a couple of minutes I was fine. I didn't manage to see the manta close up, but Adam did. We then headed over the Crystal Bay which had lots of
coral, clearer water and lots more fish to see. The colours of the fish and different shapes and sizes were amazing! I loved it and I'm so glad we went and did it! I really surprised myself (and Adam I think!). After a while swimming around we kept feeling sharp, stinging pains all over our skin! But when I felt it on my face, I'd had enough by then. I got back on the boat and said to Captain Wayan 'something's stinging me' and he said 'jellyfish'!! So he does speak a word of English! They were tiny mini jellyfish, we couldn't see them at all but we definitely felt them!! Thankfully the stinging didn't last long. Then Captain Wayan took us back to the shore. What an amazing morning! Needless to say we will be relaxing by the pool for the rest of the day and Adam got some great drone footage of the place we are staying at and Dream Beach which is a stone's throw away!
Day 27 ... Conquering my fears, one by one! Today we booked a guided tour of Nusa Penida...and we were so glad we did, for 2 reasons! 1. We got to see all the amazing sights. 2. We didn't have to negotiate a scooter on the ridiculously, bumpy roads which made up 85% of the island. The views and photos we got from our tour today were amazing. It was quite a pricey tour as we had a guy in a boat take us across from Nusa Lembongan to Nusa Penida then a private driver and tour guide for the day, and worked out about £90. First was Kelingking Beach where I conquered my fear of heights and got an amazing photo to prove it! Next was Angels Billabong and Broken Beach, the last stop was Crystal Bay which is where
we snorkelled yesterday.
Day 28 ... Not much to report today. We got the boat back from Nusa Lembongan over to Bali and checked into a hotel in Kuta. When we got there I decided we REALLY needed to do some washing after almost a month of travelling we had only been using our travel wash and a sink to wash through some essentials. So we checked in and went on the hunt for a laundry place, luckily there was one 2 minutes walk from our hotel. The only snag was, we flew out of Bali to Labuan Bajo the following morning, so we needed our laundry back by 10am and it was around 2pm the day before. So we tried explaining this to the laundry lady, but she couldn't speak a word of English so. she got her husband who could speak pretty good English and he said come back tomorrow morning at 10am. So we left them with 3 big bags full of our clothes, she hopped on a scooter and off she went. We had our fingers and toes crossed we would see it all again the following morning, but I wasn't 100% confident!
Day 29 ... 8am and we were up for breakfast, probably the strangest one so far...we ordered an omelette, which was accompanied by sliced potatoes and onions, green beans and carrots, a mini corn on the cob, a weird looking sausage and a mini salad with dressing. Needless to say we only ate the omelette!! The time came for us to collect our laundry, baring in mind, today was a Balinese holiday which seemed to be a big deal as there were huge handmade decorations everywhere in the streets which looked so intricate and amazing! As we walked around the corner, the shutters were half way down, not all the way which was a bonus but my heart did sink a little. As we got closer, we realised there was no one there, at least that we could see, so I shouted 'hello' and the lady came out and passed us our huge bag of laundry all ironed, folded and wrapped neatly in a cling film type material! PHEW! When we got back to the hotel to pack, ready for leaving at 11am, the smell from the laundry was amazing, how they get it to smell so good, for so long, I have no idea, but I'm so glad we got it done, ready for our trip to Labuan Bajo this afternoon!!
