We had a great day today. We said good bye to our new friends from Johannesburg who were flying to Patagonia this morning.
Marcos drove us into San Antonio de Areco which was quite a ride. Four of us crammed into the back seat so couldn't put on seat belts and Chris sat in the front. Marcos took back dirt roads that had major ruts in them from recent rain and drove about 120 km / hour when you probably should have been going around 20! We got there in one piece and Marcos was kind enough to give us a bit of history of the town and his family who were very prominent. We walked the main streets and then were back in time for lunch.
Lay by the pool and napped this afternoon and then we all went for a ride after tea. Cory, Jessie and Katie all cantered while Chris and Sarah took it a bit slower.
A young German couple has joined us. They seem nice but they do have a hard act to follow as the South African couple was great.
Christmas Eve is the bigger event than Christmas Day so we will have a dinner a little earlier so that staff can get home to their families. By early, they mean 8:00.
The dinner was several courses. First came some kind of meat with tuna sauce on it, then chicken, then more beef, then a steak. They don't serve big portions but there is just so much of it.

Chris had bought bubbles for next to nothing in town. It wasn't until we opened the boxes that we discovered our super cheap bubbles were actual magnums. It ended up being quite good. Same with the $10 or $11 magnum of Argentinian Merlot Chris bought as well.
