My diary

The next morning I woke up feeling sore, not being able to turn my head. I don’t know what made it get so bad (travelling, aircon, surfing)... I had a private yoga session at the hotel which (with 2 ibuprofens) made me feel a lot better but still decided I would have a lay day.

So with just one board and a lot later than the day before, we made our way to the beach. I was looking forward to reading my book and watch Chris surf.
We found a nice spot for me with some sun beds. Next to me was a German couple.

Turns out I did not read one page of my book (and I still haven’t until this day) but chatted to the German girl (Franzi) all along.

Her boyfriend (Tom) was in the water on a soft board trying to catch the same waves as Chris.

I don’t know where my recent fear of big waves has come from - but he clearly had no fear at all... pulling into the biggest waves time after time and

getting completely smashed.
When the boys were surfed out we all chilled on the beach for a bit.

The local fishermen had trouble getting their boat back onto the beach and so the men had to give them a hand. (Not really what either of them were waiting for after a 2 hour surf session...)
After a refreshing coconut we arranged to have dinner with Franzi and Tom that night.

We went to the flash restaurant “Aloha” we had had lunch the day before. Unfortunately the food was a bit of a disappointment (not as good as our street café) but the company and good laughs definitely made up for it.
