We are on our way to The lost colony! Roanoke is our next stop, we are very excited to go see the lost colony that never became successful. We will have to travel 343 miles from Fort Sumter, we will have to stop for gas once and fill it up for 2.25 and we will spend 45 dollars to fill it up all the way. We will be sleeping at Best Western Roanoke Rapids for just 70 dollars a night. Once we check in we will be visiting and learning about the lost colony. Roanoke was a colony established 1585 where the first settlers arrived but did not make it for more than few months. That is how it gets its name “The lost Colony”, it is located in Roanoke island which is now known as Dare County, North Carolina. This colony was sent by Great Britain by Queen Elizabeth to gain new land and provide riches from the new world. We visited The Roanoke island festival where we learned about the history and very specific details about the lost colony. Then we ate there some good old hot dogs and we headed back to the hotel.
