My diary

We finished and then took off and finally arrived at the memorial. There was a truck packed with explosives and it was detonated on April 19, 1995, outside the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building leaving 168 people dead and hundreds more injured. We went there to see where they honored the victims, and survivors who were affected by the Oklahoma city bombing which happened in 1995. We also saw the Jesus Wept statue that was at the entrance. After that we went to the Memorial Fence which is a 10 foot tall chain linked fence where visitors leave stuffed animals, poems and such for the ones that have passed away. We also went to see the memorial chairs. The memorial chairs had the names of honored men who died. We also went to the gates of time, the gates of time represents the moments of destruction and tragedy. The 9:01 gate is a symbolic reference to the last minute of innocence for our nation in regards to domestic terrorism. The 9:03 gate is a symbolic reference to the first moment of recovery, the moment when grieving, and healing, began. The time of 9:02 a.m. stretches between the two, presenting a tragically long minute in which citizens were killed, survived and changed forever. We had a good time looking around those historical places. When we finished looking around we went to go eat in jack in the box. We ate some hamburgers and it cost us 27 dollars in total. So today we wasted $27 in total. After that we went to our next destination at Memphis, Tennessee.
