Well we got to our first stop and it was in Winona County it was about 4 hours away and we stayed in a hotel for the night $75 then we woke up and hit the road again. We finally made it there and we started our hike up and before that we payed 11$ for parking. The hike was fun but tiring, also the view was amazing, we took some cool photos of Mount Rushmore and when we got there. We learned that Gutzon Borglum was the sculptor and the project lasted from 1927 to 1941 with the help of his son Lincoln Burglum. We also found out that it was originally known to the Lakota Sioux as "The Six Grandfathers" and the Lakota Sioux are a native american tribe, and also learned that each president was supposed to be sculpted head to waist, but construction was ended due to funding. After all that we visited the and we learned that it is a head of Oglala Lakota warrior, Crazy Horse, riding a horse and pointing into the distance. We took a pic of it and then headed back down and went to our car once again. Then we finally left and took off to our next destination.
