Waking up has been a struggle. This morning I was on the morning team for working in the church. Today was the first time I got to be at the church for Sunday service as I had arrived last Sunday and was exhausted. Serving in the church was precious. We serve coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juice, etc. to people in the church. I had many interesting conversations, although I could not always be understood. My favorite part of the morning was meeting everyone and practicing my French. This was probably also the favorite part of my week as well. Since we are all English speaking it can sometimes be hard to find people to speak French with and the language school's sole purpose is learning. I liked practicing French in a more non-formal, friendly environment.

After serving for the two morning services I went to the service at 2:00 pm. Jeff sat next to us and translated the service. It was a super encouraging message about finding your strength in the joy of the Lord. Pastor Ivan spoke about the many struggles David went through when Saul was trying to kill him, and how David had the strength to keep his character. It really spoke to me and encouraged me to find my rest and strength in the Lord. Although it was a very simple message, it was just what I needed for encouragement this week.
