Being at the church has quickly become my favorite thing. Initially I viewed the church mostly as an avenue to meet people. I expected to help serve the church but I did not expect the impact that it has already had on my life. Not all services here are translated, but the Lord speaks to me in different ways. Most recently the Lord has been working on my heart, specifically about learning to walk in freedom.

Yesterday there was a free worship night at the church. I can not try to put into words the pure joy in the room. My favorite part of being in France by far has been seeing young people dance before the Lord in worship. Being raised in a more strict church environment, it can sometimes be easy to focus on my shortcomings rather than to turn my focus on the Lord. Perfection is not important, loving others is.

Galatians 5:13-14
For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

I am learning so many practical ministry tools being here. Most importantly I am learning community and loving others. Everyone is so different and yet we are all a part of one family. I am seeing first hand in the church what I believe is the important aspect of Christianity, loving others well.
