Skinny Dipping

We arrived in Byron with nowhere booked as everything was full with Australia day coming up. By the time we got there it was dark and we had no idea where to go. I tried to convince Henry we could camp in the forest when we stumbled across a campsite. It was closed but luckily the lady working there was lovely and allowed us to camp there, saving our skin. The next day we moved to Aquarius for a few nights before moving to Backpacker Village to utilise the free surfboards. Aquarius was cool and our room was definitely the party room with drinking going on from 9 am onwards. We met the girls on Australia day for drinks on the beach before hitting some clubs. We got very drunk, expect from Henry, and ended up going skinny

dipping before sneaking the girls into our garden. Henry was asleep and I managed to convince Jemima to get in bed with him, a gesture I hoped he'd appreciate in the morning.

Byron was a lovely little town that still has a great feel to it. I appreciated how un-ruined it was more afterwards, as I think I kind of took it for granted while I was there. We tried our hands at surfing but the waves weren't ideal for beginners. After an hour it felt like I had been beaten up by the waves and we called it a day. Cheeky Monkey Was a fun backpacker nightclub I visited a few times. On our last day they had a bikini competition with a unbelievable Brazilian winning it.

While in Byron we also got pulled in by a travel salesman and bought a massive package. We planned not to book much, but after realising that Fraser and Whitsundays would get sold out, we booked a lot of accommodation and trips to save money. Walking out 2500 dollars poorer we decided to save some money for a few days... or weeks.
