Brisbane

Our next stop was Surfers Paradise. A grand name for what was a built up holiday destination. Don't get me wrong the beach was beautiful, but it was next to hundreds of skyscrapers and hotels that didn't really have a backpacker feel. We bought a 40 dollar pub crawl that ended up just being a lot of guys going from club to club. We ended up falling asleep next to the beach and decided to call it a night.

Brisbane came next where we had been advised to stay at Bunk. It was a nice hostel with a cool bar and tv's. We explored the city, went to the gardens and had a picnic with the girls at the city beach. It was a chilled day ending with a band playing some great songs while we listened on the river bank. That night we watched Murray get beaten in the Australian open final, which was gutting, however the first 3 sets were some of the best tennis I have ever seen. The next morning we went to a pub, the Pig and Whistle, to watch the superbowl. It also turned out to be a great game matched with an equally good atmosphere. In the afternoon we went to the Brisbane museum which actually turned out to be really interesting. It had a whole range of sections from war hero's to Dinosaurs to Aboringinals.

Before weleft henry bouht himself a tablet and i replaced my lost swiss army knife, it had gone missing after i drunkedly cut up a watermelon camping, with a letherman.
