Bangalore

After a long flight with sore legs and no sleep I arrived in Bangalore. There I had to get my visa checked and change some euro's for rupees. When I exited the airport there were something like 40 indian people waiting to pick up the passengers. I luckily found my driver very fast and after an one hour drive I arrived in the apartment at 3:30 am. It's quite a nice room with wi-fi so I can keep everybody up to date with my blog, thats great! After a few hours of sleep I woke up to the sound of cars honking in the streets. It was still quite early so i tried to sleep some more but thats easier said then done with all the sounds of the big city. The next morning the german girls, who study speech therapy, and me went to the Christ University where the Centre for Social Action is located. First we went walking for a bit and then we decided to take a tuk tuk! It's very cheap and much easier because the traffic in India is crazy. The people are driving left and that is all I can tell after one day. There are no rules for passing other cars and everybody is driving in the middle of two lanes. So you can probably imagine that crossing a road is kind of scary at the beginning. When we arrived at Christ University we were lost but luckily there was a nice student that was kind enough to show us the way to the CSA. First of all, the university is great! It has a lot of trees and it's very silent compared to the busy roads. When we arrived at CSA we were welcomed by Johny Joseph, the director of the CSA. He's a very nice guy and welcomed us by showing some stuff about the CSA.
After that we had to take some photographs for registration and then we were free to explore a little bit of Bangalore. We went to the mall that is nearby and were surprised by the many luxurious shops there. That was very different from the shops along the street which were mainly old and almost broken down. After some more exploring in the streets we went back to the apartment because we were very tired of the first day.
When we came back the dutch girls from education arrived at the apartments as well. At the moment we are with 5 HAN students. Now I'm sitting on my balcony writing this blog under the sound of hundreds of cars honking. I guess I'll have to get used to it!
Tomorrow we will get a tour around the Christ University campus, which I'm looking forward to!

Stay tuned for more.
