Today we exchanged our order for our 21 day railpass. These are very handy and can only be bough by forigners in their home country before they get to Japan. The 21 day pass only costs about $650.00 AU and you can take mostly all trains including the bullet trains, which is what we did! We arrive in Nikko at about Midday dumped our stuff at the hotel and wandered along the main street looking for some eats. We came across a okinomiyaki resturant run by two very sweet old Japanese women. It was cook your own, the bough out the mixture in a bowl and we had to mix then turn onto the hotplate. The smell was amazing but nothing compared to the taste.
We then made our way towards the Shrine. This is a world heritage site and is very beautiful. More fancy schmancy than the shrine/ temple we saw in Harujuku, more gold and ornate. We wandered through, a group of Ameicans asked me to take a photo for them, and i was happy

to until the father started yelling directions at me, "make sure you can see the lanterns in the background!" and "Are you sure you have all of us in the picture" from now on i am going to pretend I am from Belgium if any more annoying yanks ask me for anything!
I went to the post office to buy some stamps and a little old Japanese women told me "to enjoy my self in Japan!" she seemed very chuffed she got to use some English, it was very cute. We went for dinner at an Italian restaurant which was ok. On the way back to the hotel (which was about $50 AU a night, together, not each) we stopped at the family mart and bought BF a ready made soft serve cone, these should really be made available in Australia.
FYI; the hotel we stayed at was Nikko park lodge tobu station
