Tokyo Disneyland; the happiest and today the wettest place on earth. We saw on the news later today thattherewas 44mm of rain! It rained pretty heavily from about 9am to 2pm. The first thing i did at the park was to buy a rain poncho, was quite surprised that there were any left. There were hoards of parents running around grabbing rain coats and gumboots for their kids. By about 10 am i was wishing i had a pair myself.
However as it was pissing down with rain the park was relatively quiet so waiting times were small. Star tours, big thunder railroad and splash mountain are still the standout rides for me and unfortunately space mountain was closed for maintenance which was disappointing. The haunted mansion didnt do it for me here. As it was all in Japanese the humor was lost and no hat box ghost, was really looking forward to seeing it. For those of you not in tthe know, the hat box ghost has an interesting history and somewhat of a cult following ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hatbox_Ghost).

As the day wore on the desire for dry feet only became stronger, we were going to stay for the night parade and fireworks, but a combination of of the wet feet, the continuing drizzle and the fact we had been up since 6:30am meant we were quite content to leave at 5pm
Back in Ueno and we squelched over to American town, thankful for the many many shoe stores. I bought myself a pair of gumboots and socks and was one of the happiest girls ever, and was able to skip back to the hotel for rest
