Japan - The month of adventure

We started our day by participating in a very japanese pass time. We visited a cat cafe! It was very cute, we paid for a half hour time limit and it was 700 yen each. The cats were very lethargic as we were there so early, or maybe cats are just like this most of the time. There were about 15 of them and some were very beautiful. After this we went to Uniqlo, a 7 story uniqlo with a bar in the basement! I bought sooo much stuff, it has added to my backpack weight considerably.

We then went through Akihabara, the big electronics district.

We then went through Akihabara, the big electronics district.

We went to a retro games shop called 'Baked Potato'. It have every game, accessories, parts for every console that has ever been. It even had the old double screen hand held games. It was pretty cool.

Back to the hotel to change before we hit the town Broadway style, or in this case Shinjuku style! First we hit Omoide Yokocho, which is an area full of winding laneways with all these hole in the wall bars that sit about 8 to 10 people that gave grills out the front and sell yakatori (skewered food) we went to two of these got about 10 yakitori and 3 drinks each for about 1500 yen. We then headed to the golden gai, this is a maze of small bars that only do alcohol and sit about 4 to 6 people. We stopped at a bar called 'mongolian drunk' were we

drank with the girl behind the bar.

Back to Ueno on one of the last trains and once there we hit a karaoke bar. It was pretty palatial and we had our own room. Of course BF started us off with some Phil Collins... and from therewe brank and sang the night away. We departed the karaoke bar ar about 2am and grabbed some Macca's on the way home, there were heaps of people in there sleeping. Apparently its quite common, if people miss the last train they will sleep in Maccas or an internet cafe until the trains start running again at about 4:30 in the morning. We didnt have this problem though and made our way back to the hotel for sleeping
