Wow, long hauls are awful! Left Melbourne at 2230 last night, 15 hours to Dubai then just enough of a stopover to proceed to the next terminal and board another 7 hour flight to Hamburg. Caught the S Bahn from Hamburg airport to our first night accom which was reasonably easy - clearly signposted and the major stops had English information voice overs. Geoff bought a Qantas club business membership before we left and I have to admit it was very nice using the Qantas club lounge at both Melbourne and Dubai

The first place we're staying is an Airbnb shared accom. It's a nice clean room, basic but Daniel the lovely host provides everything you could need whilst travelling. The stair well into the place is kinda creepy, there are no lights and no windows so even during the day its hard to see (it also smells like pee). There is a small balcony that looks over a small, empty courtyard but more importantly looks out at several windows allowing multiple people to also see in.
