History of art in Paris

Today it started normal, we took breakfast in the hotel in the morning and then we headed to the musée Orangerie. There, we were divide in two groups, we ended up going with a very friendly guide named William. He explained us a little bit about the museum, impresionism, art and the musée d'Orsay. I learned that it is named orangerie because Louis XIV wanted to have what no one had, so he made a place especially for orange trees to grow (trees that were very difficult to grow), and he named it Orangerie. Also, le musée d'Orsay was a train station before, until people stop using it so years passed and they decided to make it a museum.

Paris, France

Then we visited inside l'Orangerie. My favorite work of art was the Water Lilies of Claude Monet. After going to Giverny, and watching his house, this work takes another incredible sense. An hour and a half we stayed in the

museum, and then we went our ways to enjoy the afternoon. First we ate. Now what I ate was another italian food, I am a little disappointed that I have not eaten a lot of french food, but I can't resist to italian. Then we headed to a library to look for a book that my cousin wants in french, I found it. Then we went back to the métro and headed to some manga and cómic stores, I didn't buy in there, but my friend did. At the end we went back to the Louvre to buy some souvenirs in the stores of the outside. Actually we met an owner of one of those stores that knew spanish and liked mexican music. He was very nice. Then, we went inside the Louvre to buy some chocolate and macarons for my family, some other presents for my friend's family and we went back to the hotel in the subway.
Last meal of the day, and this I have to mention: a teriyaki. It tasted delicious and it had avocado, so that tasted like Mexico, I loved it.
What I learned:
- I like to look for little things to get for the people I love.
- I feel the métro routes are getting, every time I take them, shorter.
That is it for today.
