Africa: Gorilla's, Migration & Grumeti

Arriving at Grumeti
From Kogatende airstrip we took another “puddle jumper” to Sasakwa airstrip on the Grumeti preserve. After a very rainy start to our day we arrived at 10am to the Singita Sabora Tented Camp. The camp is themed after a 1920's hunting lodge and is just spectacular! We had a free morning to simply relax and enjoy the setting.

No question - our favorite camp!

The Evening Game Drive
Lions, Lions, and More Lions.
We set off with our guide, Anicet - the best so far!! On our evening game drive we came across two different sightings of Lions. One group of 6 and another of 18 including three 3 month old cubs and 4 six month old cubs. Our guide Anicet was very knowledgeable and explained the hierarchy amongst the female lions. We took amazing pictures and watched them playing and enjoying the family antics.
