A very long day...

Kigali, Rwanda - 3:30am
Up for an early flight we finish packing and grab some hotel coffee before heading out to the Charter Flight. Concerned over the weight limits we don all of our heaviest gear...not necessary as they did not weigh a thing! After a 5 hour flight from Kigali to Lake Manyara on a “puddle jumper” with three stops along the way we arrive in Tanzania.

Lake Manyara National Park - 11:00am
After being picked up at the airport we are taken on a private Land Cruiser tour of Lake Manyara National Park - a total bust if you ask us……complete with a picnic lunch with 200 other folks! Finally we are off to our hotel - or so we think. NO...we are then taken to the Tanzanite tourist jewelry shop (Yes, of course Mom bought something!). We assume the hotel required a late checkin and the

guides were just trying to kill the time.

Arriving at Ngorongoro Crater - 5:00pm
Finally arrived at Ngorongoro Crater getting a glimpse of the beautiful crater from a scenic lookout. We then arrive at the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge – a really spectacular lodge. The views of the crater, zebra and cape buffalo on the lawns of the lodge made it really special. The meals were incredible and staff terrific.
