Departed Kigali after our tour and took a 3 hour drive to Volcanoes National Park. We meandered through the rural countryside spotting may picturesque farms along the way. As we neared our destination the roads (if you can call them that) became rock filled and rutted. Finally we arrived at Bisate Lodge - Rustic and elegant at the same time!

As we neared our destination the roads (if you can call them that) became rock filled and rutted. Finally we arrived at Bisate Lodge - Rustic and elegant at the same time!
I felt the elevation when I had to climb three flights of steps from our room to the main lodge - stopped two times just to catch my breath.....
