My diary

No sooner had Laura and Nico returned on 1/1/19 than we had to pack up and say our good byes and thank you for everything K+K had done for us. We checked out of Bob’s house with a smile but when we left Karen’s house later that same day we left sad to be saying good-bye to a place we love and our good friends. Still fear not in just 8 weeks we will be back for another 12 week stay – this retirement gig is a real struggle.

Bangkok

No sooner had Laura and Nico returned on 1/1/19 than we had to pack up and say our good byes and thank you for everything K+K had done for us. We checked out of Bob’s house with a smile but when we left Karen’s house later that same day we left sad to be saying good-bye to a place we love and our good friends. Still fear not in just 8 weeks we will be back for another 12 week stay – this retirement gig is a real struggle.

Next stop The Banyon Tree hotel Bangkok. As you would expect this was a luxury hotel with club lounge facilities which meant we could drink as much as we wanted for free – it’s a wonder we ever ventured out into the steamy Bangkok air. But venture out we did after all we had to sneak in a couple of last minute pedicures and massages – enough to last until who knows when!
The hotel has a 42nd floor rooftop bar with laser light show every night, this was quite spectacular and the rooftop location gave a little respite from the incessant heat and humidity.
That little four-day stay was over in a flash and in what seemed like minutes we were back on a plane and on our way back to England.
