Thailand – Coconut Island:

This is our last week of luxury hotels for a while (with the exception of the Holywell Hilton Paradise Point!) and it was one week of indulgence in on all inclusive island paradise. We spent the whole week on the resort never leaving it for many of the trips they were offering. We simply fancied a week doing nothing. Sadly we are becoming very proficient at this, I’m beginning to worry how we will deal with a return to reality where we have responsibility – a worrying thought.
Because of the fact we done nothing for the week other than enjoy the improving weather, the rainy season is now just about over here in Thailand, there is very little to write about.

The room we had was beautiful with a small splash pool in the garden. The main pool and bar complex was by the beach and restaurants just adjacent to that. The island seemed to have a

honeymoon feel to it. Many newlyweds were there and they were from all over Europe and the rest of the world. South Americans, North Americans, Arabs Europeans and Australians. During the week we formed a good relationship with an Australian couple called Irene and Andre. They were fascinating to talk to, they were well read and held strong opinions on all sorts of subjects. With a history of being French Jews but born in Egypt then moving to Australia where they married and had a family. We spent hours chatting to them about all manner of things. They were delightful and we would certainly look them up if ever we find ourselves in Melbourne – where they live. Thanks for the company!
Aside from Irene and Andre we simply read our books (John Grisham is a current favourite) daily swim exercises and the odd trip to the gym – which is getting harder these days lol.
I am at a loss what else I can add to this chapter it could simply be the fact that our life has become a little repetitive – not that we are

complaining but it does not make for an interesting story. Anyway off to Australia next week and excited for the change and meeting our friends again.
