We spent the 7th and the 8th of July in the National Park of Vatnajökull : it is the largest of Europe. Its landscapes are very different : rivers, ice, volcanic activities,... The park is 14 141 km2, so 13.7% of the surface area of Iceland. We did a two days trip hiking in the park and we met a park ranger, so he explained us a lot of things about the park and its history. We slept in a moutain hut; it was really cold this night! We get up very early to take advantage of the rising sun and we walked during all the day. It was a great experience, I love this type of landscapes !
