Australia

Dear all,

Saturday was a really fun, relaxed day. It was ANZAC Day, which could kind of be compared to our Remembrance Day the 4 of May, so all shops were closed. That meant that even Donut King was closed and that my family didn't have to work at all. We took the boat to a creek and we claimed a little piece of beach for ourselves. The weather started out perfect, there was no cloud to be seen. The water was cold though, you would think it would be refreshing, but it was COLD. It got better the longer we were in there though, you just had to bear it for a couple of minutes. We also went tubing. Tubing is when you've got a tube behind the boat and hold on for dear life as you're trying not to fall off, while the boat is picking up speed. It was so much fun! I did fall off once though, I was like: "oh, I can go on my knees." I couldn't. We also went fishing and Ari, Eric and Laura caught some! We actually ate them later, which was pretty exciting, seeing as I'd never had self-caught fish before! I got sunburnt pretty bad though, it's still kinda sore. But my family has got an aloe vera plant, so we got it straight from its roots, it really helped. For dinner, we made pizzas! Renee is a pro at making pizzas, trust me. She makes everything from scratch, even the dough. We made some pizzas which had sweet potatoes on them, and as weird as it may sound, they tasted pretty good!

Today, Sunday, was a quiet day again. We did our little morning ritual, (go to the shop and have a hot chocolate, though we did have a donut this time :)) and then we went home. We sat outside, but I didn't dare sit in the sun anymore, and I put on heaps of sunscreen just in case. (They use the word "heaps" a lot, it's rubbing off on me.) Then we watched "Mulan", which we actually hadn't seen before. Laura's judging us big time, especially me, as I've never seen 'The Little Mermaid" either... ;) And that's about it. We're having a lot of fun, we'll probably go visit Sea World tomorrow, which is exciting :)

Have a great day all of you!
