Dear Diary,
This week was very exciting! It started when I went over to my cousin’s house to catch up. When it was almost time for dinner, she went out to get food while I stayed home. I sat on the couch and decided to go on random websites to pass time. While messing around I found a chatroom, and met a very nice man! He told me his name was Scott, and he sounded very nice and funny. We talked for about an hour until my cousin came back for dinner. Before I logged out, we decided on a time to go into the chat room again so we could continue our conversations.
As my cousin and I ate, I told her about the man I met. My cousin told me to be careful and said that he might not be who he says he is. I assured her that I knew what I was doing, and I can tell that Scott is not a catfisher. My cousin is still suspicious and said that if there were any problems, that I should come to her. I thanked her for the offer but told her that it wouldn’t be necessary.
As the week went on, Scott and I talked more and more. Scott told me about what it is like to live in America, and he tells very funny stories. I kept the questions going, trying to picture together what life is like in America. We have been getting very close, and I’m so glad that I met him.
After talking together for about four weeks, Scott told me he bought a plane ticket to come meet me! He says that he can't wait to see me and that we are going to have so much fun. I told my cousin about him coming to Finland, and she is still suspicious. I told her that if he really was a bad guy, that he would want me to come to him, not the other way around.
Scott is going to be here next week, and while I am excited, I am also extremely nervous. Although we’ve been talking for a short amount of time, I’ve come to know him really well. I hope the week goes smoothly.
