Day 13 - Touring

Yellowstone National Park, 07.13.2017

We looked at the map and decided that since we saw the 8 “Village” areas in the park and all the highlights of the park, we would now focus on a few hikes. Today we did two. The first was Elephant Back. It’s a 4 mile moderate hike with uphill switch backs ending up with beautiful views of Yellowstone Lake. It was heavily forested all the way to the top. The views were beautiful. Everywhere you go in this park you are treated with gorgeous views. Getting to the top of some of these mountains gives you a appreciation of the size of this park. All 2.2 million acres!

The second hike was Natural Bridge. It was a flat, easy 2.5 mile hike ending up at a rock formation that looks like…well…a bridge. You can’t actually walk on the bridge but Tim took a short climb the led under the bridge and a stream that runs under it. We parked at a marina and enjoyed views of parked boats.

Afterwards we headed to our favorite restaurant in the Lake Hotel.
