Day 19 – The party!

A fantastic day. In the morning Josh and Gail and Uncle Paul were there, and Josh played with me in the garden. Granny and Josh went to the station and came back with Josh's girlfriend Fran, which was very exciting. Then we all got into cars, our one had 4 balloons in it! There were some little seats at the back where Josh and Fran sat, holding all the balloons, and I was between mummy and Gail.
On the way to Mulberry House we played I spy and then sang lots of songs, I especially liked some that Gail sung called 'I went to the animal fair' and 'The teddy bears picnic'. When we got there, I had fun playing on the grass, and going over the bridge with Josh and Fran, and then again with mummy.

Soon, lots of guests arrived and I was very polite and said hello to everyone. Then we had some drinks and I played on my tablet. When we went to sit at the big table, mummy gave me lots of milk in a glass. I sat next to mummy and granny's cousin Linda, and opposite Josh and Fran. When the food came I got a special plate with some cakes, a scone and some sandwiches. I especially loved the ham sandwiches, and lots of people gave me their ones. I also loved the cakes.
When we'd finished eating, granny stood up and talked about Poppa, while I sat on mummy's lap and kept very quiet. Then grandpa stood up and talked, and lots of people cried, but in a nice way. After that Poppa and granny went to the front of the room and Gail lit the candles, then everyone sang 'Happy birthday', and I helped Poppa blow out his candles. I finally got a piece of cake and I didn't like it, but I loved the icing and the flowers.
When we got home I played with Josh and Fran again, and then had my supper. I played in the garden with granny, then Josh read me one story and mummy read me the rest, and let me come down and say goodnight to everyone. I went to bed very late but I'd had a lovely day.
