Day 1
On the first day, we were all extremely excited as some of us were leaving the country for the first time, and most of us without our parents for the first time as well. Despite some shenanigans at the airport, our whole group arrived safe and sound – with about 2 hours difference — and some were already exhausted, but still we had fun discovering our surroundings and seeing London’s most
famous tourist spots, like the Big Ben, the London Eye, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament (aka the Palace of Westminster). Then, at dinner, we tried the iconic local cuisine… Fish’n’Chips. After that we went back to the hotel and rested in order to get ready for another long day.
Day 2
On the second day, we woke up and went to have breakfast at the hotel. When we were all ready, we left to go to the underground and visited the 9 3/4 platform and the Harry Potter shop, where we could find all sorts of Harry Potter themed items and souvenirs.
After that, we went to Camden Town and shopped at the local stores, where we bought souvenirs, and then had lunch at a food court there.
Then, we visited Madame Tussaud's wax museum, where
we could find statues of celebrities and well known people from all around the world.
Before dinner, we explored some streets at Covent Garden and even saw a street magician doing some tricks for entertainment purposes. Our dinner was at a pizzeria and we ate pizza, of course.
Before going back to the hotel, we watched the Mamma Mia! play at a theater and lots of people danced to the songs. After a long day, we stopped at a convenience store, went back to the hotel and went to sleep.
Day 3
On the third day, we all got in the train early as always and picked an underground to South Kenginston.
After some talk we got to experience our favourite part... the Natural History Museum.
The museum was awesome, there were so many things to
see we didnt know where to start. Although the rocks and minerals were cool our favourite part was the biology area. We got completly stunned with the size of the models and it was so cool to learn everything about them.
Finally when we got very hungry, we left the museum and found an amazing local restaurant which sold delicious hamburgers.
In the afternoon, we went to the Science museum which, in my opinion, wasn't that good compared to the last one. Nevertheless, it was fun to learn about human anatomy and all.
After some long walks, we arrived at the comercial streets, like Oxford, Regent, and Carnaby. We had lots of fun going in and out of shops.
Later on in the day we ate dinner in some hotel and went back to Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square. The
atmosphere was so bright, there were so many shops open late at night, we were having some great conversations while walking.
Going back to the hotel we were exhausted and before going right to sleep we still sang happy birthday to a colleague.
Day 4
On the fourth day we met at the hotel reception and went to the subway towards Canary Wharf where we could see the sculpture made with plastics collected directly from the ocean, a true work of art.
Then we quickly went to the subway, in the direction of the Tower of London, where we could go to some shops and enjoy the view of the river. We had lunch and were able to visit the famous Tate Museum, it was an incredible experience. Soon after we went back to the hotel to pick our bags and it took us a 2-hour bus trip back to the airport. We boarded at 8:30 p.m. and landed on Porto at 11:30 p.m. and so this incredible visit ended.
This trip was undoubtedly unforgettable!
