London
April 22, 2025
We landed in London this morning, and even the bus ride from the airport felt like something out of a movie. I watched from the window as we passed old brick buildings, and flashes of red buses and black cabs in traffic. Everything was like in pictures, and now it was finally real.
Honestly, I was a little annoyed at first. Our teacher didn’t even arrive with us. She was on the next flight, so we had
to wait around longer than expected. Not the best start, but once we got into the city, it was hard to stay upset.
Our first real stop in the afternoon was Buckingham Palace. The moment we saw it, it felt impressive. The building stood tall and quiet, with those gates in front and guards in their red uniforms standing perfectly still. I remember just staring at the palace and thinking: This is
actually happening!
From there, we made our way to Big Ben. Seeing it in person was something else. It’s one of those landmarks you recognize instantly, but when you’re standing right beneath it, it feels way more powerful. I just stood there for a second, letting it sink in. I took some pictures and we were off.
Our final stop was the London Eye. The ride up was slow and smooth, and the view from the top was incredible. We could see the River Thames and the London rooftops. Big Ben looked smaller from up there, and even Buckingham Palace was visible. The city felt calm and huge all at once.
At the end of the day we went to a pub. It was awesome! There was a lot of British people drinking and having fun. We had dinner there, we ate some typical food - fish and chips - we all thought that it was pretty good. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.

We started our morning at King’s Cross Station, where we visited the famous Harry Potter shop at Platform 9¾. The whole area was filled with fans, and the shop itself felt like stepping into the wizarding world. It was such a cool place.
Around lunchtime, we visited a typical London market, filled with colorful food stalls and the smell of amazing street food. There were so many options, from curries to pastries to fresh grilled dishes.
In the afternoon, we wandered through some cool looking clothing shops, we had lots of fun choosing clothes to one another. After that, we headed to Madame Tussauds, which turned out to be one of the funniest parts of the day. The wax figures looked unbelievably real. We took loads of photos with our favorite “celebrity” actors, singers, athletes, and even a few world leaders. Edgar even got pranked by a worker that was pretending to be a wax figure: it was very funny.
But the best part of the day came in the evening, when we went to see the Mamma Mia! musical. The moment the music started, the whole room was energized. The actors were fantastic, and the whole show was just so fun and feel-good. By the end, the audience was cheering and
clapping along.
By the time we got back, we were completely wiped out, tired of our legs so we went right on to sleep.

In the morning we made our way to South Kensington, excited for our first stop: the Natural History Museum. The building looked like something out of a fairy tale, and as soon as we stepped inside, we were surprised. We wandered through the dinosaur gallery, standing beneath towering skeletons and watching kids lose their minds over the animatronic T. Rex. We spent ages in the Earth section too, especially the gemstone collection, each one glittering under the lights, ancient and fascinating. We
were hungry so we headed toward Covent Garden and grabbed lunch at Five Guys. Nothing fancy—just greasy cheeseburgers, Cajun fries, and milkshakes.
After lunch, we doubled back to South Kensington for round two: the Science Museum. Since it’s right next to the Natural History Museum, it was an easy hop. We got totally lost in the space section, staring up at rocket models, satellite displays, and even getting to touch an actual piece of the Moon. The interactive exhibits were fun too: we pushed buttons, played games, and probably acted like overgrown kids, but we didn’t care. At night, we headed to Leicester Square and went to the M&M Store. After that, we wandered around the nearby shops we went to the Lego store and the Hard Rock Cafe. By the time we got back to the hotel, our feet were sore and we were exhausted so we went to sleep.
On April 25th, we woke up in the morning and packed our bags so they would be ready for the afternoon. We took the last breakfast in London and then we took the subway to Canary Wharf, where we saw skyscrapers and saw a whale made of recycled materials as well . Then we went to The Tower Bridge and visited the surroundings of the castle. Around 1 p.m., we took the tube again to the Tate Museum. After visiting the museum, we had lunch at a restaurant where the waiter was also Portuguese it was really easy to communicate and easy to understand.
Later, we returned to the hotel, got on the bus, and headed to the airport. We caught our flight and arrived in Porto at 11:30 p.m.
