After a busy (and rather late) day yesterday we had the luxury of a lie in today (8am!) before heading off to flag break and being welcomed into the camp. After introductions we participated in a mass trust exercise, which somehow resulted in Robyn receiving a shoulder massage! We then set off to explore Oeschinensee. After walking through the beautiful village and admiring the view we headed for the Gondolas. This was pretty exciting, although trying to board a moving carriage proved to be a little bit tricky. On the plus side Rachael's ears finally popped so she can hear properly again!
Stepping off the gondolas we were greeted by the Swiss mountains, which were still covered in snow. We headed down to the lake, frequently hugging trees as the path got a bit steep! But the trek was totally worth it for the amazing view! Although Nairne & Nicky didn't get to have much of a rest at the bottom as Nairne had lost her phone. Luckily a lovely German man handed it in for her (resulting in Nairne crying with happiness), but all their searching wasn't in vain as it means Nicky has reached 30,000 steps today.
We also went on the toboggan run, which Rachael learned is more fun when you don't accidentally go down with the brake on... (Saffron genuinely thought she'd need to create a search party!) After 3 rides each we were reunited with the missing phone (cue tears of joy) only for Daisy to ask 'What's going on?' - she'd somehow not noticed the hour long search or all the talk about Nairne's phone! Another gondola ride later we headed home, as Nicky, Saffron & Rachael headed for the supermarket. After waiting for the bus for 15 minutes, they set off walking back with the shopping only to see the bus drive past them - a pretty painful sight at this point. But they made it home eventually and we had a lovely, chilled evening making lots of new friends.
