259th Glasgow's Swiss Adventure

Today we were up with the birds, a quick breakfast of cornflakes all round and off we set for our frozen adventure to the Jungfraujoch - the highest point in Europe. There would be snow!
We were all advised to wear layers and by the time we got on the first train we all felt a bit like onions.
After a bus and numberous trains where Rachael befriended an English scout commissioner we finally reached our destination, and Wow! what a sight! Snow as far as the eye can see but surprise surprise Robyn is still too warm!
After taking a thousand photos and the guides finding out that some Leaders really aren't keen on hights (Only noticable by the finger impressions left on the guard rail). We headed out onto the mountain side to build a snowman, have a snowball fight and take a walk through the ice caves, with the guides giving us a life long nuggets of wisdom such as - snow is wet and cold and Moira James makes THE best sausage sandwich. Clearly every day is a school day!
Leaders were at it too with Robyn identifying that rucksack rain covers are the perfect size and shape to waterproof your bum whilst sitting in the snow!
Being a guide trip though it doesn't always go to plan with Nicky's right leg falling into a hole trying to get the best position for a group photo and Robyn ripping her Jeggings trying to manoeuvre into said bum cover.
Meanwhile Saffron is risking it for a biscuit and trying blue Fanta and explaining to the guides that Toffifee tastes better in Switzerland -something to do with the chocolate to caramel ratio being on point. (Your guess is as good as ours!)
A quick jaunt around the shops for souvenirs and chocolate from the Lindt store and we were all ready for heading back down to lower ground.
Complementary chocolate on the train down was a definite high light and took away the discomfort of our ears popping. On route home saffron and Nicky decided to go a quick trip to the shop via the scenic route but it's all groovy as is meant Nicky is on 17662 steps for the day.
Kate introduced the girls to swaps and even let them have some of hers to start their collections - very appreciated by the girls. Setting them up for the international evening ahead where our shortbread and irnbru were a definite crowd pleaser - we have never seen a queue for a shot of Irn Bru before.
A long day for everyone ended with macaroni cheese prepared by Saffron and an early night all set for tomorrow's adventure!
