Travelling Thailand and Japan 2015

After spending our first night on the floors of our guesthouse we got up early for our traditional breakfast, ready to make the most of our only full day in Nara.

We headed out around 10am to see the local sights. We had a quick look at some local Pagodas nearby before venturing to the Nara nature park to look at the vast number of temples, shrines, museums and gardens, oh and deer! On our arrival we were shocked at just how many deer there were and how close they would come. They seem to wonder the streets like Gods and our very tame.

We had a good look round the sights before heading up a large hill to get a great view over the city; unfortunately it was a bit cloudy but we still managed to enjoy the views. Afterwards we headed back towards our hostel, but first made a stop off at the tourist centre to take in a local calligraphy lesson put on by the staff. We picked a word and our name and attempted to sketch it out. By the end of this we had taken up our full afternoon so headed back to the hostel to relax for an hour before dinner. We headed to bed early, ready for our trip to Osaka the next morning!
