DUBROVNIK TO SPLIT

So another day on the road, heading north along spectacular coast. Stopped at top of hill to look down over the harbour with cruise ship and some very large yatchs, of the rich, who cruise these waters.

Stopped for lunch at another really quant seaside town, Makarska, really like this place, would love to be able to hire a villa and stay for 5 or 6 days to soak up the atmosphere. All you want, cute, alleyways, promenade great to just stroll through. Little places along the coast road to have a swim. Would like more time.

Back in bus for the remainder of the trip to Split. Booked in hotel, then walking tour , hotel room a better size with reasonable bathroom.

The old city is small and is built around the remains of Roman monument. The Diocietian's Palace. Again little alleyway, cafes, shops and open onto seaside promenade. Little smaller than I imagined, as I had heard so much about Split.

Brian still not felling well so he did not do the tour, so I walked back to hotel now around 7pm and then we both walked back to town for tea. Brian order prawns thinking it was something easy to eat but they came with shells on, so I had to peel them for him. I had risotto.

More time in the morning to look around and this was the best time as very quiet. So nice casual wander, checked out the markets, Brian got some nice Italian tee shirts. I got white lace top and the day before also an Italian lace top.

Back to Hotel by 11.00 am, for bus heading to Trogir and lakes
