Broadfeet across America

I can't believe two years have passed since our Family Trip to the USA. Nor can I believe that it has taken me this length of time to edit and finish the diary.

I remember that our last day at Disneyland was spent going on our favourite rides in each park and then finishing the day with a bit of gift shopping. I also remember sitting in the airport for a few hours, eating dinner at 10 pm (the girls thought that was 'the best') and hopping on the plane just before midnight. Suffice to say that all of our running around made the flight back home a very quiet and relaxed trip. Unlike the journey over, we managed to sleep for approx 6 to 8 hours and still watch a couple of movies.

I also remember how hot it was when Jason collected us from the airport. I think we all nearly died. I remember walking to the carpark feeling very heavy from the oppressive humidity and heat. We managed to fit our 7 bags (went over with 4, returned with 7...) into the Politch's car and share some gifts with them upon arrival.

It is now 2017, and I am sitting in the outdoor area of our new home. Peter and I have been back to the US with a short trip to Florida and a quick visit to Phoenix to see Tim & Barb. Gee their kids have grown very tall!! I returned on an earlier flight and sat in the same departure lounge location at the airport that we all did in 2014. A quick corona to ward off the 'evil plane-crashing gremlins' (according to Peter) and a big sleep to return home.

Our 2014 Family Trip is a credit to one very special person. Although he has been given numerous names throughout this diary (Ape-Man being the funniest), Peter has an incredible gift of enabling; of making things (dreams) possible. So to you, our driver, chef, travel agent, tour guide, father, husband and friend; thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sharing this part of the world with us.

Until our next journey ......
