An organised Broadfoot family were up and ready to go, breakfast, car fuelled and returned and then on the shuttle to LAX for a busy day of flying. The day outside was gloomy and miserable, rain, rain and more rain. A great time to leave. However, we had a fly-in visitor overnight from Hayley's tooth fairy who brought two American dollars. It was amazing that she knew where we were, Hayley was thrilled.

LA to Vagus to Denver
An organised Broadfoot family were up and ready to go, breakfast, car fuelled and returned and then on the shuttle to LAX for a busy day of flying. The day outside was gloomy and miserable, rain, rain and more rain. A great time to leave. However, we had a fly-in visitor overnight from Hayley's tooth fairy who brought two American dollars. It was amazing that she knew where we were, Hayley was thrilled.
It was such an easy and hassle-free morning until we entered LAX domestic airport. Australia's airport system is fantastic. While there may be still line-ups you don't have to navigate around or line up
behind large touring groups like we encountered. Then we had to line up behind them again to go through security. However, Maxwell Smart was in no mood to line up again, so via a sneaky elevator to the right, we bypassed the line and joined security seamlessly.
On this particular internal airline, there is no allocated seating it's all 'open'. You are given a boarding pass with a classification eg. 'B' and a number which is used purely to move the passengers onto the plane in some order. Makes things very interesting when you have a family and want to sit together. Families were allowed to essentially "push-in" once the 'A' group, invalid, armed forces, and those willing to pay more entered. We managed to get two window seats for the girls on each of our internal flights (from LA to Los Vegas then Vegas to Denver).
Food for the day ..... hmmmmmm ....
Breakfast: Bacon & Scrambled Eggs McMuffin
Snack (between flights): mini hotdog pretzels plus a pepperoni pretzel
Lunch (taken on the 2nd flight): ham & cheese sandwich with a twinkly or a ding-dong.
Snack: peanuts and mini pretzels
Feeling VERY unhealthy.
In the next hire car - a mini SUV Chevy - very new.
The sun is already down at 5 pm and it's not as cold as expected, but Denver is very sparse - the scenery reminded us of the Darling Downs with long stretches of road and open spaces where they grow alfalfa (according to a lady on the plane - will have to confirm with a local).
Looking forward to staying in a home, with a home-cooked meal.
