How many movies can you actually watch on an 11-hour flight....back to back, I think about 5?
However let's take in eating time, Pit stops, attempting to sleep and having too many movie choices and we get to watch 2. Then we plan to sleep.....then we try again, then, get a new position, then we lie down, then we roll over, then we get too excited and watch movies in the middle of the night. And let's not forget the multiple snacks and meals one gets offered and even woken up for in the middle of the night.
Suffice to say 2 hours maximum sleep certainly plays havoc the next day, especially when the excitement of being in a different country wears off and the girls are literally falling asleep standing up the next day.
So we had two minor crisis - Miranda lost her travel pillow at the Aus Airport .... Very strange! and a Qantas jet now has a random earring floating around on the floor. Apart from that, the meals were GREAT, and it was exciting. The 14hr flight turned into 11hrs - the pilot was so worried about getting to LA before customs was open that we sat in the Australian terminal for 15-20 mins.
The flight though was relatively smooth and quiet ..... just a tad restless.
