My Indian adventure!

This time last week I was on a coach heading towards Heathrow to start the painful journey here.. Here all safe and sound a week has already flown by!! It went very quickly... My problem is that as soon as I got here my relaxed feeling about being here soon vanished and from all the stares that I get the horror stories really do take over your head. Since being at my accommodation I haven't been more than 5 minutes walk away purely because I am a chicken. Playing dodge the moped, motorbike, cyclist, car, bus, tuk tuk, holes and piles of cement is some what interesting you really do have to be awake.
Communication is some what a problem here I really need to get to grips with the lingo and quick... Shops aren't shops they are holes in walls where you have to ask for everything instead of picking it up yourself.. 1st attempt I asked for water and they offered me a towel... and even Jai knowing the area toilet roll is hard to find!!! Even though I haven't been far yet I have gained a few experiences.. The monsoons are fun and terrifying.. fun to watch because your surroundings from dry and dust to a river in seconds with the lightening striking the road and the electric cables but they are not fun when they wake you up in the middle of the night when the rain hits my metal roof.. another thing that isn't fun to be woken up by is a panther!!! 2 days ago I was woke up by a panther that had jumped on my roof and then decided to fight/eat anything (cat, dog, bird, mouse, lizard, monkey) surrounding my place.. It is fair to say I was shitting myself that night and did not get a wink of sleep.
Jai is fine I have seen him a few times for the odd hour here and there he goes to college about 10 mins away from my place during the week so he pops in to see me now and again. He is pretty rubbish at suggesting food at the moment the 2 hot dinners I have had they have burnt my mouth off but I guess I'm going to have to get used to that!!

Anyways somehow I need to get the chicken out of me and go and explore abit more this week else I will end up like a hermit!! but baby steps for now.. Dehradun is not as touristy as the internet make it out to be... I am the only western in town...that I have seen anyway..i wish they would stop hiding ..it would make me feel abit better!!
