Mijn dagboek

This one was about the week after easter, but as mentioned earlier i got a bit lazy with writing because i did not have much to write about. But this was quite the nice weekend! The reason for that is because i finally met an online friend of mine who i've known for 10 years or so by now for the first time! I felt a bit bad she had to travel for 2 hours to get to Helsinki, but i was very exited to finally meet her face to face!
The weather was a bit all over the place, but we still had great fun nontheless. We took to wandering around a little at first, looking at some shops and meandering about. My friend wanted to go look at a local comicbook store, but it was closed untill an hour or so later, so we decided to kill time by getting our movie tickets in advanced.

Once we were done with that we got to the comic book store, and it was amazing. Comics as far as the eye could see, but also some other merchandise and there was even a small magic game going on in the side of the store. It reminded me of Forbidden Planet that i had been to in London, and it made me all the sadder i did not have anything like this back home.
But on the other hand, that might be for the best, because i was a great chunk poorer when we left. (Though i wasn't the only one drowning themselves in comics so i didn't feel TOO guilty about it)

A day out on the town

After we were done shopping we went back to the cinema, to buy some snacks and wait for our movie to start. We hadn't really pondered too much on what we wanted to watch beforehand, but we decided on the power rangers in the end. And boy did the cinema stun me right out of the ballpark. The first thing i noticed was that there were 14 theatres. 14! Meanwhile the one back at home has 4...Quite the difference! Though the theatres themselves were quite a bit smaller, but they could show a lot more movies at the same time. I think i prever the Finnish way! Less people in one room and more choice. The big amount of choice also reflected back into their snacks. I thought i'd faint! The area where you can put your own choice of candy in a baggy was already beyond humongous, but there were so many other options!
You had your standard popcorn, chips and gummies with coke and fanta and the like, but there were also smoothies, slushies, ice cream and a wild assortment of popcorn flavors and nuts (because Fins really seem to like having healthy snacks as well).

The last thing that amazed me were the bathrooms. First of all they required a code that was printed on your ticket to get inside. And second of all...the faucets...Somehow the people of the cinema had managed to engineer the air drying bits right into the faucet. It was a minor detail but it amazed me nonetheless.
But long story short, i had a lovely day! Thank you Karoliina for showing me around town and agreeing to meet me! I had a great deal of fun and really enjoyed our day together!
