Wonders of the World Part 1

We were out the door by 5:30 am in a taxi that Steinthora arranged for us (she said it would be easier for her to communicate) to the airport. It almost seemed too good to be true! Security was quite picky and the few swallows of water had to be consumed, and Addy and Leesie both got flagged (they did a chemical test on their hands and shoes). Almost all our bags were flagged and they didn't have a table or anything of the sort to put ourselves back together. But we made it through and were EXTRA glad we checked all the carry-ons but mine. Luckily too, it was early enough that it was just getting busy so we didn't feel a ton of pressure to be super fast. Leesie's tummy was still hurting and she looked ill, poor thing. The rest of the girls all got the big headache. Luckily I packed a small thing of tylenol and it was in my bag.
Our layover was in Berlin, so it was fun to be "in" Germany for 5 hours! We let the girls try spezi (Cola & orange soda)! Fun! The girls took turns feeling sick and like they were going to throw up. Poor things! We spent a minute at the wrong gate right at the end, booked it to the right gate, and then they delayed our flight 3 times. We finally got on and the plane seats were very smooshed together and it was a packed flight. There were a lot of people coughing on this flight (we can't get away from them!), but the worst was Addy. It's hit her hard today. Poor thing. And I was worried about getting sick in Jordan the most. Ha!

WE MADE IT! WE MADE IT! WE MADE IT! We made it to Greece! On the drive from the airport in our rental car, Clara threw up. Dang it! She had gone white at the end of the last flight and I'm surprised it didn't happen earlier. Luckily Peter and I had both grabbed paper bags from the plane (Clara had one and Emma had one), and Clara did a VERY good job making sure it stayed contained. Bless her soul! By the time we got to our Airbnb (and found the tricky parking spot) it was past midnight. Poor girls had a couple days of rest, and now that we're actually IN Greece I want to run! We'll see how tomorrow goes. Prayers for my girls.
