Wonders of the World Part 1

We decided the kids were well enough for a little adventure! We got up and going (Peter made another grocery run for milk), then drove about 45 min. to The Adventure Park outside Athens. It's a recreational area in the forest with things like: rope courses, zip lines, archery, bungee trampoline, a climbing wall, pedal go karts, etc. We found it interesting that most of the employees/guests didn't speak English. When I was ordering food at the little bar, a guest stepped in to help translate for me (my pointing wasn't quite doing the trick). It was really fun to be in a local spot! The Adventure Park

We visited with a few other guests and that was fun! Most of the workers were really sweet with

the girls. The lady helping Emma looked like a young Grandma and was adorable with her. She asked "What are we going to do?" Emma didn't answer. She said "Fly!" as she whooshed her across the zip line. Emma loved that like everything! One of the coolest things is that the little kids area had the same things as the big kid area (just smaller)! Emma was in the "Squirrels" age group, and the rest of the girls were in the "Foxes" (although Addy was old enough to do the "Wolves" after finishing the Foxes, which she chose to do! I was very proud of her for not letting the height get in the way of her having fun today!). They have a very cool "clip" system: each harness has two clips and you can only unclip one at a time from the wires (it won't let you unclip the other until the first is clipped in, etc). So it feels very safe that they are clipped onto something at all times, even going up the ladders, etc. All the girls had such a good time that when it closed, they didn't want to leave. We weren't planning to spend all day here, but they were loving it so much we decided to stay.

We looked up how to say/spell our names in Greek today! They all look so cool!

Theme for today: Smile at everyone!

Our favorite things today:
Emma- My favorite thing was the jumper!
Clara- Everything!! The climbing thing with the zip line and hooking was fun!
Leesie- I really liked the bungee cord jumpy thing and the zip lines!
Addy- I really liked the zip lines!
Kathy- My favorite thing was watching the pure happiness on the girls faces!
Peter- I really liked watching the girls and talking with locals.

Miracles:
- Almost everything in the city was shut down today in observance of Christmas, so it was amazing that this place was open! We initially were going to go last Saturday, but when our time got cut short we thought we wouldn't get to go at all. So amazing that it was open and that the girls had so much fun there!
- Our last minute decision to go there today. We were wanting to see several places today, and getting in the car when Peter said let's just

start there - so we went and I think it will be one of the lasting memories for the girls, which is really fun!
- We called today about our island excursion for tomorrow and they said it's canceled due to weather. We are really grateful we could reschedule it for Wednesday! And we are really hoping the weather upon the sea is more cooperative then!
