From Las Vegas to Kannaraville's Red Ledge Campgound was a nice trip. But my side of the motorhome was in the sun the entire time and I felt like a roasted vegetable. So after settling in at the campground we took off for Walmart in Cedar City and Bill got some tinting film for my window. As he said " It's a long run up the 15 and the sun will be on me the entire way." I look forward to the next leg so we can try it out! Kannaraville is just a small town of about 200 people, an LDS church and Kannaraville Falls. The campground is clean and friendly and we're camped on the grass. It's a passport america place....one of the nice ones. There is no "town". Just houses. There are a couple of nice parks and apparently a splinter group of the LDS as we saw the long dressed signature hairstyle on the girls in the park. Kannaraville Falls is why we are here. The next day we did the Kanarra Falls hike. It was a great day for it as it wasn't too hot. The long road to the slot started off dry and dusty. Lots of ups and downs and really gave our legs and lungs a workout! Then we started crossing the Kanarra Creek. We did that a number of times...sometimes just walking up the creek instead of the trail. When we reached the mouth of the slot we were stunned at how beautiful it was. The water was cold but not deep and the falls were beautiful. The ladder to the second falls wasn't bad to climb..just hard for me and my short legs when I got to the top. I actually needed someone up there to pull me up. Since that wasn't happening, I came back down and Bill went up. He did see the second falls, took a few photos and came back down. i waited for him. One trip p the ladder was enough for me!
