Tomorrow is Day 1.......Getting through the Cajon Pass construction and fire disaster. 44 cars were burned and destroyed last night when drivers on the 15 fwy in the Cajon Pass were caught in a fire. People were abandoning their cars and running down the freeway trying to get away. It was awful. Add the lane closures because of the Cajon Pass widening project...well, you get the picture. We're heading for Barstow where it won't be quite as hot as usual....but will have a 50% chance of rain. I guess our great plans of day 1 sitting around the Barstow KOA pool with an umbrella drink is probably not going to happen!!
Another unexpected twist...it has rained all day. We need it for sure....and don't want to complain.....but it has somewhat hampered our efforts to finish some things outside. Best laid plans and all that.....the things of which adventures are made!!
