I woke up early today to pack the last items for the trip. I am alone, my wife and son are still sleeping, so I am sipping my morning coffee quietly.
It's 10 am and I can dream about the days to come. At 11.30 I wake up my son. My wife got up a bit before him and also finished packing her personal stuff.
Time passes slowly.
At 12.30 we can leave for the airport at last. Since I had already checked in via internet yesterday even, we could pass through security quickly and find our gate.
The plane left on time. The weather was great for flying. Since we were a little nervous in the morning, we didn't eat much and were even looking forward to a sandwich on board the plane. But what a big disappointment it was when they passed a small bag of pre-sliced apples. Even the coke was very small.

Fortunately the flight to London only takes about a hour.
We landed on time a London City and went straight to the car rental desk. All went well and they even upgraded our car to a Toyota Avensis. Well, I guess its still better than a Seat. It took me a little time to getting used on the driving, hut it was great fun heading south to Canterbury. The drive was pleasant and it only took us the best part of an hour to reach Canterbury.
After a quick check in, we visited the city and grabbed a bite to eat at a cosy French restaurant just a few streets from the cathedral. The food was good but a bit expensive.
On our way back, we strolled through narrow streets and beautiful parks.
I have to admit that I am pretty knackered and that I shall turn in early today.
It was, so far, a good day and I am looking forward to tomorrow's adventures.
