South England 2015

Today I felt much better, so I started the day by spending a little time just sitting in front of the farmhouse and enjoying the silence.

An hour later we were on the road again. We headed towards Turners Hill. I promised a good friend to visit the Red Lion pub, since she grew up there. I took a couple of photos and drove south again.

Just an hours drive south from Turners Hill, Seaford was our next destination. The small town itself doesn't have much to offer, but we didn't come here for that. Just a couple of miles further out, a small one way road leads to an abandoned farmhouse. We parked the car and just walked a couple of minutes to take our first glimpse at the Seven Sisters. What a view... Those white cliffs really are something. OK, the weather wasn't perfect, but it didn't rain and we could enjoy our time there.

Soon after we left for Brighton. Last time I visited Brighton it looked nicer, cleaner. I am wondering what happened to this town. I remember flowers everywhere and nice picturesque streets. All that is

gone. Even Brighton Pier, although well kept, seems foreign. Where are the happy faces? Where are the families? Instead you find lots of drunks, junkies and foreign people. The stupid amusement park, where visitor just throw their money at moronic automats doesn't help.

The city itself is still a bustling place, but as I mentioned before, it's not the same. Maybe I expected too much from the once beautiful English Riviera capital.
